Now Open: Velvet Taco

Velvet Taco, the edgy, Dallas-based, counter-service restaurant known for tacos inspired by unexpected flavors, is opening its 10th location at Legacy Hall later this spring. Legacy Hall is a European-style food hall with more than 20 restaurant partners located at 7800 Windrose Ave. in Legacy West, Plano’s popular mixed-use development.

Velvet Taco offers a thoughtfully created, chef-driven menu with scratch-made everything, including slow roasted marinated brisket, dry-rubbed pulled pork, tomato chutney prepared with fresh grilled vegetables, all sauces and more. The globally inspired cuisine that just happens to be in a tortilla is innovative and imaginative, yet still approachable while pushing the envelope.

“As we continue to set the standard in food hall curation, the addition of Velvet Taco is a reflection of our commitment to our guests,” said Kulsoom Klavon, Vice President Curation at Food Hall Co., Legacy Hall’s parent company. “We are thrilled to have Velvet Taco as our newest restaurant partner. Our guests will enjoy Velvet Taco’s first and only location in Plano.”

The new restaurant will feature a limited menu of five signature tacos including the Spicy Tikka Chicken, Slow Roasted Angus Brisket and Cuban Pig; sides offered will be the ‘Elote’ corn and Red Curry Coconut Queso. And, of course guests can also expect to see a brand standout: the “WTF” (rotating Weekly Taco Feature).

A new outdoor patio will be added to Legacy Hall adjacent to the Velvet Taco space with additional seating and a pickup window.

“We think Legacy Hall is the perfect spot to introduce our tacos to Plano,” said Clay Dover, Velvet Taco President and Taco Maker. “This location has such a fun and unique feeling, which fits perfectly with our brand’s personality, and what we convey through our tacos.”

Velvet Taco will be open for lunch, dinner and late-night.

Now Open: Beijing Brothers

Legacy Hall is excited to add restaurant partner Beijing Brothers, a Texas-based Chinese restaurant created by Yang Sun and Willy Lu. The new restaurant opened on Monday, April 22.

Beijing Brother’s menu features items prepared using traditional Chinese methods and authentic ingredients such as Hand Pulled Noodles, Peking Duck and Yangzhou Fried Rice. The menu will include bowls that can be topped with protein and the house specialty, Peking Duck served with fried rice, hand pulled noodles or stir-fried noodles.

“Bringing Beijing Brothers to Legacy Hall is our chance to give more diners a true taste of authentic Chinese food,” said Lu. “From hand-pulled noodles to our house specialty, Peking Duck, we’re looking forward to sharing our time-honored recipes with a whole new audience.”
