Grilled Cilantro Chili Lime Wings Recipe

Main Content

The Cowboys’ regular season starts September 9th, and whether you care or not, you must admit that one of the best plays of football season is the food!

We asked Chef Andrew Chen from Monkey Noodle King Co. what his game time favorite recipe was, and he did not disappoint. His recipe for Grilled Cilantro Chili Lime Chicken Wings is totally drool-worthy, and sure to impress your friends. And did we mention that they’re stupid-easy to make!? We’ll take that as a win.

Grilled Cilantro Chili Lime Chicken Wings Recipe:

1 Lime cut in half
2 bunches of cilantro coarsely chopped

Chili marinade

1 cup Chinese black vinegar (You can substitute with a 50/50 mix of Red Wine Vinegar and Balsamic Vinegar)
1/2 soy sauce
1/4 cup red chili flakes
1/4 cup Korean chili flakes (coarse cut)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup sesame oil
3 tablespoons sugar
2-4 cloves of smashed garlic
Dash of kosher salt

Chicken wings

Wash and dry 3 pounds of chicken wings
Place in mixing bowl, add marinade
Marinate 2-6 hours

Chef Andrew’s Instructions:

I personally like to use a gas grill and set the initial flames to high heat.

Once the wings are on the grill turn the flames directly below the wings to low but keep the other flames on high and cover the grill. This allows for an indirect heat to cook your wings while giving you the nice grill marks that will impress your guests.

Add the 2 lime halves on the high flame part of the grill.

The grill temp should level off at 350-375 degrees.

Flip the wings over after 12 minutes.

Cook for another 8 minutes or until the thickest part of the drumstick feels firm.

Place the wings into a bowl and squeeze in the grilled limes.

Garnish with cilantro (optional).

Serve and enjoy!
